Winter Skin Tips from Chelsea & Charissa

During winter, our body needs extra nourishment to improve our skin’s health and increase immunity.

Our lovely friend and client, Liv from Liv’s Nutrition Plan has created a delicious winter broth recipe to share with you. Adding extra warming and nourishing foods to your diet in winter is so important to increase your nutrition and this one really ticks all the boxes.

Ingredients
Serves 6

•   30g butter

•  1/2 a leak sliced small- I chop off the bottom of the white end, and use the white to the green, discarding the leafy end.

•   3 large carrots

•   6 stalks of celery

•   1.5 tbsp minced garlic

•   1 tbsp minced ginger

•   1kg chicken breast, thinly sliced.

•   1.5 litres of chicken stock

•   250g thick egg noodle, broken up into small pieces.

•   1tsp of parsley flakes

•    Salt and pepper to taste

•    Coriander to serve.

Procedure:

Using a deep saucepan:

1.  Fry off your leak, carrot, celery in the butter over medium heat for around 5-10 minutes.

2.  Add ginger and garlic and fry for 2 minutes.

3.  Set aside in a bowl.

4.  Using the same saucepan, poach your chicken breast in a small amount of water (enough to just cover the chicken)

5.  Let cook on high for 10-15 minutes.

6.  Drain water from chicken and add the leak/celery/carrot mix back into pan.

7.  Add in your chicken stock and bring to a simmer for 5-10 minutes. While this is cooking grab two forks and pull the chicken pieces apart.Once the vegetables are soft, add your noodles,parsley flakes, salt and pepper.

8.  Let cook until noodles are soft.

Serve into bowls and add fresh coriander on top
*you can add a scoop of collagen to your serve once in your bowl and mix through with a fork/ spoon.
